Microsoft is currently working on giving final touches for its next feature update Windows 10 May 2019 which is to be released in late May this year. Windows 10 May 2019 Update will be released with major improvements to Start menu, Action Center, Settings app and more.
The update will also introduce a new Windows light theme experience, Windows Sandbox and several other features. The company plans to release the Windows 10 May 2019 Update to the Release Preview Ring as soon as next week.
Release Preview Ring is the final ring were the builds are being tested with Windows Insiders before the company pushes out the update to the general public.
The company is working on its next update Windows 10 20H1 also known as April 2020 Update. The company plans to push the 20H1 builds to the Fast Ring Insiders sooner than expected.
Microsoft is currently pushing the April 2020 update builds to the Skip Ahead Ring and is expected to merge both the Fast Ring and Skip Ahead ring soon. This change is expected to happen in the coming weeks according to Microsoft’s Brandon LeBlanc.
“With the Windows 10 May 2019 Update being shared to the Release Preview ring soon, we’re planning to move Windows Insiders in the Fast ring forward to 20H1. We will also be merging the small group of Insiders who opted-in to Skip Ahead back into the Fast ring. We are looking to make this change in the coming weeks,” Microsoft’s Brandon LeBlanc explained.
Once both the Fast Ring and Skip Ahead Ring are merged, Windows 10 20H1 builds are expected to be pushed out to Insiders enrolled in both rings. This would mean that the development of the next major update will gain pace and details of the upcoming features will appear online.
